About Me

I've taught 2nd and 3rd grade for 15 years in Florida. Six of those years I had the fantastic experience of being a co-teacher with a great teacher and friend. I've had several years of experience working with Exceptional Education Students with various learning disabilities and Vocational Education teachers as the inclusion classroom.  I became a National Board Certified Teacher- Early Childhood Generalist in 2007. Definitely one of my greatest accomplishments!

After a year off staying home with my first baby, I went back in the classroom for 2 more years teaching 2nd grade one year and 3rd grade the next.  Those two years I had the fabulous opportunity to job share with two incredible teachers!  (Side note: If you're not familiar with job sharing it's the most AWESOME working situation around!  You basically share a class with another teacher.  In our situation one of us worked every Monday and Tuesday, the other one works every Thursday and Friday, and then we switched off the Wednesdays.  We both worked all of the planning days.)  It was the best of both worlds- teacher and mommy!  After having my 2nd baby, I decided to be a full time stay at home mommy.  I missed being in the classroom, but I was so thankful for the chance to be with babies all the time for two years!

Currently, I teach 3rd grade in a virtual school in Florida. I am going into my 4th school year teaching virtual school and it is a whole new ball game of educational experience. :)
